Course NT-PowerBI.DAXa Advanced DAX Capabilities for Business Analytics in Power BI

This training course is a continuation of the NT-PowerP.DAX course and is designed to deepen participants' knowledge of creating advanced calculations, working with filter context, and building analytical data models in Power BI.

The course focuses on advanced capabilities of the DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) language, calculation context, complex formula development, and efficient data modeling techniques.

Throughout the training, participants will explore practical approaches to using DAX for solving real-world business analytics challenges, including KPI analysis, working with time-based data, creating dynamic measures, and developing interactive reports in Power BI.

This course is intended for professionals who already have a solid understanding of DAX and want to move beyond basic calculations to build professional business intelligence solutions using the advanced capabilities of Power BI.

After completing this course, students will be able to:

  • create advanced DAX expressions to solve complex analytical tasks in Power BI;
  • effectively use variables (VAR) to improve formula readability and optimize calculations;
  • work with different types of DAX context and understand context transition mechanisms;
  • use table functions and iterator functions to build advanced calculations;
  • create analytical measures based on time intelligence, including simple moving averages and period comparisons;
  • implement advanced analytical scenarios such as ABC analysis, plan-versus-actual analysis, rankings, and Top N calculations;
  • control relationships between data model tables by using DAX functions;
  • apply DAX to create dynamic measures for Power BI visualizations;
  • leverage advanced DAX techniques to build interactive and responsive Power BI reports.
